Your Endocannabinoid System
Hemp and CBD interacts with your endocannabinoid system, or ECS. This biological system is found in all humans and is made up of an interconnecting web of signals and receptors that communicate to help keep your body in homeostasis, or balance. You naturally produce signal molecules called endocannabinoids that activate your ECS by binding with cannabinoid receptors located in the brain, liver, GI tract, immune system, and pancreas. When activated, the ECS helps your body to regulate pain, inflammation, memory, appetite, coordination, and emotion.
